Dr. Ken Hershenfield
DDS, MScD
Dr. Ken Hershenfield completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at McGill University. He then received his Master of Dental Science and Periodontal training at Boston University. Dr. Ken Hershenfield is a past-president of the Toronto Academy of Dentistry, Ontario Society of Periodontists, Canadian Academy of Periodontology and the Toronto East Dental Society. He is also a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry.
Dr. Sari Hershenfield
DDS, MSc, FRCDC
Dr. Sari Hershenfield completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. She then returned to the University of Toronto to complete her post-graduate training and Master of Science in Periodontology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Sari Hershenfield is also a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry.
Dr. Michael Coyne
DDS, MSc, FRCDC
Following his undergraduate degree in BioMedical Sciences at The University of Guelph, Dr. Coyne completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at The University of Western Ontario in 2018. After one year of practicing dentistry, he moved to Vancouver to pursue studies in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia.
During his residency, Dr. Coyne was the appointed the chief resident of his program and earned teaching, research, and clinical proficiency awards by UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry. He successfully defended his Masters of Craniofacial Sciences and completed his Periodontal residency in 2022.
His passion in periodontics includes digital dentistry, implant therapy, and teaching the next generation of aspiring periodontists. In his spare time, Dr. Coyne enjoys exploring the outdoors, woodworking, and connecting with his family and friends across the country.
Dr. Nisha Patel
BDS, MSc, FRCDC
Dr. Patel began her academic journey with an undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from McMaster University before earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Queen’s University of Belfast in 2019. She subsequently advanced her expertise by pursuing a residency in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia. During her residency, Dr. Patel received an educational scholarship, as well as awards for osseointegration and teaching, reflecting her dedication to excellence in the field. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
